NEW WILMINGTON - Senior Cory Borland (Uniontown, Pa./Laurel Highlands) scored in the 78th minute to lead Thiel to a 1-0 victory over homestanding Westminster in a Presidents' Athletic Conference soccer match Friday night.

The win snapped Thiel's 16-match losing streak to Westminster, improving the Tomcats record this year to 7-9-1 overall and 2-3 in the conference. 

The Tomcats had just three shots on goal and were outshot 17-6, but made the most of their opportunities.

Tom Lange (Poland, Ohio/Poland Seminary) recorded the shutout in goal for the Tomcats, making 10 saves. 

Thiel will return to action Tuesday with a home game against Washington & Jefferson.
