WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (Jan. 16, 2010) – Thiel College earned a resounding, 50-5, victory over Rochester Institute of Technology on Saturday to wrap up its competition in the Budd Whitehill Duals at Lycoming College.
The Tomcats won at every weight but 125lbs in the rout, which snapped a three-match skid and evened their record at 5-5 on the season.
Freshman
Tommy Kozak (Belleville,MI/Belleville) (Bellville, Mich./Belleville) got Tomcats on the winning track at 133lbs by earning the first of four Thiel pins in the match. The sophomore trio of 149-pounder

At 141lbs,
Jeff Marianetti (Ontario, N.Y./Wayne Central) (Ontario, N.Y./Wayne Central) won by default, Alec Miller (Transfer, Pa./Grove City) (Transfer, Pa./Grove City) took 165 via a technical fall and 184-pounder Patrick Morris (Graysville, Pa./West Greene) (Graysville, Pa /West Greene) won a, 6-1, decision.Todd Miller (New Eagle, Pa./Ringold)and
Kraig Smith (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell)earned wins via forfeit at 197lbs and 285lbs, respectively.
Thiel dropped a, 26-10, decision to York College earlier in the day.
The Tomcats split the first six matches of the day, but York wrestlers won the last four weight classes to earn the victory.
Kozakimproved to 13-5 on the season with a, 3-2, decision over Alex Paladino at 133 to get Thiel on the board.
After back-to-back losses at 141 and 149, Lowrydominated the 157lbs match to the tune of 13-0. Sophomore 165-pounder Miller followed suit with a, 8-2, decision over Zachary Downing.
