Alfred, NY (September 6, 2009) -- The Thiel College men's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss at the hands of the Alfred University Saxons on Sunday.

Thiel managed to end the first half tied at zero on Sunday but, the Tomcat defense soon would succumb to Alfred's pressure; giving up two goals in the final twenty minutes of action.  

The Tomcat offense sputter against the Saxons as they could only get off five shots to Alfred's 16.  

Tomcat duo, Tim Smith (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) (Bel Air, Md/C. Milton Wright) and Derek Workman (Valencia, Pa./Mars) (Valencia, Pa/Mars), earned all-tournament recognition.

The Thiel men return to Greenville, Pa. on Thursday, Sept. 10 for their home opener against the La Roche College Redhawks.
