GREENVILLE, Pa. (Sept. 29, 2009) – The Thiel College Men's soccer team suffered a tough loss as they stayed close with the Raiders of Mount Union. The final score tallied 3-1 as the clock struck zero at Alumni Stadium in Greenville, Pennsylvania.
The Tomcats lone goal came from freshman
Stephen Melfi (Aurora, Ohio/Aurora) (Aurora, Ohio./Aurora) as he kicked one past the Raider goalie, early in the second half. That was Melfi's seventh goal of the season, which put him atop the leader board for the season.
The game was played closely, but the Tomcats could not come with a late offensive strike.

Tom Lange (Poland, Ohio/Poland Seminary) (Poland, Ohio/ Poland) tallied four saves in the contest.
