Greenville, Pa. (April 23, 2009) -- After dropping game one of Thursday's doubleheader match up against Mercer County rival, Grove City College, 0-9,  the Thiel College softball team bounced back with a 9-4 victory in game two.

After committing seven turnovers in the game one, the Tomcat defense tightened up and gave sophomore pitcher, Kristen Moreland (Dover, Ohio/Dover), the support necessary to pick up her fourth win of the season.  Moreland struck out six while giving up eight hits and four runs in seven innings of work.

Sophomore duo, Melissa Rankin (Scenery Hill, Pa./Bentworth) and Danielle Dwyer (Dalton, Ohio/Dalton), lead the Tomcats offensively ,with Rankin going 4-for-4 at the plate with two doubles, a triple and four runs scored, while Dwyer went 3-for-3 with a double, a triple and two RBIs.  Sophomore, Emily Batiz (Leechburg, Pa./Leechburg Area), contributed a hit and three RBIs to the victory.
