Greenville, Pa. (March 28, 2009) -- The Tomcat softball team saw their losing streak reach four games after being swept by the Saint Vincent Bearcats, 5-8 and 0-3, on Saturday.

In game one, the Tomcats' bats seemed to come alive as they scattered 15 hits across the field but, could only provide five runs as they left ten runners on base in the loss.  Sophomore centerfielder Laura Davin (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) lead the Tomcats after going 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI's.  

Elise Moore (Apollo, PA/Kiski), Laura Wise (Fowler, OH/Mathews), Britain Callen (Andover, OH/Pymatuning Valley), and Melissa Rankin (Scenery Hill, Pa./Bentworth) all had two hits in the contest.  

Defense was an issue for Thiel as they amassed a season-high six miscues.

In the second contest freshman pitcher, Kristen Moreland (Dover, Ohio/Dover), went six innings giving up three hits and three earned runs.  

Offensively, the Tomcats had no answer for Bearcat pitcher, Ashley Whipkey, who tossed seven innings, struck out four, and allowed just one hit in a shutout performance.
