GREENVILLE, Pa. (Oct. 21, 2009) – Westminster College defeated Thiel, 3-0, in men's soccer action Wednesday afternoon at Alumni Stadium. With the loss, the Tomcats fall to 5-11-1 (0-5 PAC), while the Titans improve to 7-9 (2-1 PAC).

Westminster's Brice Lott opened the scoring late in the first half, beating Thiel goalkeeper Tom Lange (Poland, Ohio/Poland Seminary) (Poland, Ohio/Poland Seminary) with an unassisted shot.

Ten minutes into the second half the Titans struck again, this time off the foot of Ian Hill, with an assist from Tyler Ryan.

Mike Belshay closed out the scoring at the 89:50 mark with an unassisted goal.

Lange finished the game with four saves, while Titan keeper Mike Codita posted the shutout.

Westminster outshot the Tomcats, 14-1.

Thiel and Westminster both return to action on Saturday - Thiel visits Waynesburg for a 6 p.m. match, while the Titans visit Washington & Jefferson at 3 p.m.
