THIEL WOMEN FINISH SEVENTH AT OWU'S MARV FRYE INVITATIONAL

DELAWARE, Ohio (April 5) -- The Thiel College women's outdoor track and field squad finished seventh with 51 team points at Saturday's Marv Frye Invitational, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University.

Sophomore LaToya Locke (Farrell/Farrell) (Farrell/Farrell) was the Tomcats' lone winner on Saturday, finishing with a jump of 35-10.5 in the triple jump. Junior Cara Riffe (Greenville/Reynolds) (Greenville/Reynolds) finished second in the 400-meter dash (59.24) while junior Chavonne Green (Fredericksburg, Va./Massaponax) (Fredericksburg, Va./Massaponax) was fourth in the 100 meters (12.72) and freshman Kim Stitt (Hermitage/Hickory) (Hermitage/Hickory) was fourth in the shot put (35-1.25).

The women's 4x100-meter relay of Green and Locke and freshmen Patrice Page (Cleveland, Ohio/Shaker Heights) (Cleveland, Ohio/Shaker Heights) and Jaquala Riggins (Youngstown, Ohio/Rayen) (Youngstown, Ohio/Rayen) finished second with a time of 50.47.

The 4x400-meter relay posted a third-place time of 4:08.22. Members of the squad were Riffe, Page, junior Kate DeGeorge (Butler/Butler) (Butler/Butler) and freshman Moriah Monroe (Austintown, Ohio/Austintown Fitch) (Austintown, Ohio/Austintown Fitch).

Thiel is set to return to action on Wednesday, April 9 at a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Quad Meet which is to be hosted by Grove City College. Events are scheduled to get underway at 3 p.m.
