THIEL WOMEN THIRD AT PAC OUTDOOR T&F CHAMPIONSHIPS

WASHINGTON, Pa. (April 26) -- The Thiel College women's outdoor track and field squad posted a third-place finish with 116 total team points at Saturday's 2008 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Washington & Jefferson College. Freshmen Patrice Page (Cleveland, Ohio/Shaker Heights) (Cleveland, Ohio/Shaker Heights) and Kim Stitt (Hermitage/Hickory) (Hermitage/Hickory) each registered first-place individual finishes for the Tomcats with Page setting a new conference mark in the 400-meter dash (57.45) and Stitt winning the triple jump (36-7).

Westminster College won the team title with 145 points, followed by Washington & Jefferson (120), Thiel (116), Grove City College (90), Waynesburg (63) and Bethany (54).

Page also recorded a second-place finish in the 200-meter dash (25.72) while Stitt was second in the shot put (36-11.75).

Junior Chavonne Green (Fredericksburg, Va./Massaponax) (Fredericksburg, Va./Massaponax) was second in the 100-meter dash (12.37) and the long jump (17-2.25) and posted a third-place finish in the triple jump (36-4). Sophomore Liz Sitko (Hiram, Ohio/Crestwood) (Hiram, Ohio/Crestwood) finished second in the discus with a throw of 117-2.

Sophomore LaToya Locke (Farrell/Farrell) (Farrell/Farrell) finished third in the 100-meter hurdles (15.77) and freshman Joy Metzler (Industry/Western Beaver) (Industry/Western Beaver) was third in the shot put (35-6.5). The women's 4x100-meter relay crossed in third place with a time of 49.58).

Thiel's 4x400-meter relay squad also posted a second-place finish with a time of 4:00.94. Members of the relay were Green, Page, junior Kate DeGeorge (Butler/Butler) (Butler/Butler) and freshman Moriah Monroe (Austintown, Ohio/Austintown Fitch) (Austintown, Ohio/Austintown Fitch). The 4x100-meter relay posted a third place finish with a time of 49.58. Members of that relay were Green, DeGeorge, Page and freshman Jaquala Riggins (Youngstown, Ohio/Rayen) (Youngstown, Ohio/Rayen).
