Big second half fuels Geneva victory

GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's soccer team let up three second half goals Wednesday afternoon, as Geneva topped the Tomcats, 3-0, at Alumni Stadium.

Gevena keeper David Callahan turned aside seven shots on goal to earn the shutout victory.

In a match where the Tomcats (5-11-1; 1-5-1 PAC) were out-shot 12-9, Thiel's offensive leaders were Matt Brannon (Winchester, Va./John Handley) (Winchester, Va., John Handley) and Robert Glass (Greenville, Greenville), who both accumulated two shots on goal.

Thiel plays host to Saint Vincent College on Saturday to close out its season. Senior Day ceremonies honoring Elliot Wreh-Wilson (Edinboro/General McLane), Mike Ryan (Petrolia/Karns City), Robert Glass (Greenville/Greenville), and Sammy Koyl (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Benedictine) will be held prior to the game.
