Paul Gray

Gray is entering his first season as the head coach of the Tomcats in 2024-25.

A native of Leetonia, Ohio, Gray attended Kent State where he earned his bachelor's degree in Integrative Studies.

Involved in coaching for more than 10 years, Gray has coached at the high school and college level.  He has coached baseball, golf, basketball, football, and softball, serving either as a head or assistant coach.

Gray began his coaching career at United High School where he served as an assistant baseball coach. At his high school alma mater, Gray served as the head golf coach, assistant basketball coach, assistant football coach, and head baseball coach.

His collegiate coaching career began at Frank Phillips College in 2021 where he helped snap a 67-game losing streak in their opening series. At Cerro Coso Community College, Grey developed four players into all conference selections.

He then joined the Hiram College coaching staff, where he served as the assistant pitching coach.  Gray helped break numerous team records including lowest team ERA, lowest opponent average, most innings pitched as a team, and single season saves.

While at Hiram, he won the NCAC conference championship and the regional championship. It was the first ever back-to-back NCAC conference championship and first ever regional championship in program history. Hiram made their first ever appearance at the super regional in 2023.

After Hiram, Gray was the recruiting coordinator and assistant coach at the University of Rochester.

Prior to Thiel, Gray was the head coach at Lasell University where his team were the 2024 GNAC South regular season champions.
