Ashley Day was named the assistant softball coach at Thiel College in August of 2018.
Day is a 2018 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in general zoology while also earning a minor in health and human kinetics with a concentration in coaching.
A native of Plain City, Ohio, Day was a standout softball player for the Ohio Wesleyan Battling Bishops, where she was a four-year letter winner. An outfielder, she was a three-time North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) all-conference player, including a first team nod as a junior in 2017.
Day was also an all-star in the classroom, earning NCAC Academic Honor Roll accolades all four years of her career. She earned the NCAC Scholar-Athlete Award in 2018, which is given annually to one male and one female from each NCAC member school to honor outstanding academic and athletic achievement. Day was also a three-time Ohio Wesleyan Top 50 Scholar Athlete, a distinction for the top 50 student-athletes based on grade-point average among sophomores, juniors and seniors.
Day was a member of Delta Gamma Fraternity at Ohio Wesleyan, and she served the sorority in multiple leadership roles during her career. She served as a volunteer for the Stingrays Fastpitch Association, the Plain City Area Ball Association and for multiple camps and clinics during her career at Ohio Wesleyan.
