Killian Riley

Killian Riley is entering his fifth season as head coach of Thiel’s men’s soccer team in 2018.

Since taking over in 2014, Riley has coached two All-PAC players, including Joshua Evjene in 2016 and Christian Conrad in 2017. 
 
Riley served as a volunteer assistant for the men’s and women’s soccer teams in 2013. With Riley’s help, the men’s soccer team went 5-12-1 in 2013. The Tomcats played in seven one-goal games in the 2013 season, earning three wins. Riley has helped coach two All-PAC men’s soccer performers, Rory Duncan and Francis Ahia.

In addition to his volunteering for the men’s and women’s soccer team’s in 2013, Riley also served as an adjunct professor and house manager at Thiel.

Prior to arriving at Thiel, Riley served as a graduate assistant for Ottawa University’s men’s and women’s soccer teams from 2011-13. He helped lead the Ottawa University women’s soccer team to a Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) Tournament Championship and an NAIA Championship Tournament berth in 2011. He earned his master’s degree from Ottawa University in 2013.
 
Riley earned his bachelor’s degree from Heidelberg University in 2011. He was part of the 2010 Heidelberg soccer team, which went 14-4-2 overall and won the program’s first ever Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) regular season title.

Riley has more than five years of soccer coaching experience and is certified through the United States Soccer Federation (USSF). Riley currently has a USSF National C License and his United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeping Level II certification.
