Frank Amato enters his 21st season as an assistant coach with the Tomcats in 2014.
Amato was the head coach of the Reynolds High School football team for 23 years. Under Amato’s direction, the Raiders amassed a record of 156-58-9 (.700 winning percentage).
A 1960 graduate of Purdue University, Amato played defensive back for the Boilermakers from his sophomore through senior years. He earned a master’s degree from Edinboro University in 1974.
Amato was recently enshrined in the Reynolds High School Hall of Fame. He was also enshrined in the Mercer County Hall of Fame in 1991.
Amato and his wife, Pat, have six grown children.
