Dan Ross is entering his second season as an assistant coach with the Tomcats. He returns to coach the team’s running backs in 2015.

Ross is a former professional football player, playing fullback for the Professional Indoor Football League’s (PIFL) Alabama Hammers in 2013. The Hammers won the PIFL championship in 2013. Ross also played for the Arena Football League’s (AFL) Philadelphia Soul in 2011.

Ross played college football at NCAA Division III perennial power Ithaca College from 2003-07. A fullback and special teams contributor, he played in 35 games with the Bombers, rushing for 84 yards and three touchdowns on 29 career carries. Ross was equally effective in Ithaca’s passing game, tallying 51 career catches for 397 yards and eight touchdown catches. The Bombers won three Empire8 titles during his career in 2003, 2004 and 2005.

An avid powerlifter, Ross served as a volunteer assistant with the National Football League’s (NFL) Buffalo Bills during training camp from 2002-05. During a medical redshirt in 2006, Ross served as a student coach at Ithaca College. He has also worked multiple youth football camps.

Ross earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Ithaca College in 2007.
