NEW CONCORD, Ohio (Sept. 8) -- The Thiel College men's soccer team fell to Muskingum, 3-0, Tuesday evening at North Athletic Field.
The Tomcats battled through a scoreless opening 40 minutes before Muskingum broke through in the 41st minute to give the Muskies a 1-0 advantage heading into halftime.
Muskingum added to its lead just 1:51 into the second half to make it a 2-0 contest. The Muskies later extended their advantage in the 79th minute.Â
Dylan Budziak (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) kept the Tomcats within striking distance throughout the contest, making nine saves, including five in the opening half. Thiel generated 10 shots, with Mitchell Strauss (Bradford, Pa./Bradford Area) leading the way with four attempts and two shots on goal. Jeremy Parisi (Amherst, N.Y./Williamsville North) also put a shot on target.
With the loss, Thiel falls to 1-2 on the season.
The Blue and Gold return to alumni Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 12 for Senior Day and a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.Â
