GREENVILLE, Pa. (Sept. 22) — The Thiel College men's soccer team dropped an 8-0 decision to Grove City Tuesday night at Alumni Stadium at Stoeber Field.
Grove City opened the scoring in the 12th and 16th minute to take the early 2-0 advantage.
The Wolverines added two goals in the final two minutes of the opening half to carry a 4-0 lead into halftime. Grove City added four more goals in the second half.
Thiel recorded four shots, including a shot on goal from sophomore Rylan Piccirilli (Sharpsville, Pa./Sharpsville). Peyton Kushon (Pittsburgh, Pa./Deer Lakes) led the Tomcats with two shots, while Ryder Nowland (Haymarket, Va./Gainesville) added one.
Dylan Budziak (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) made three saves before splitting time with Johnny Kavelish (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) in net. Kavelish made one save.
The Tomcats return to action Friday, Sept. 25, when they host Bethany at Alumni Stadium at Stoeber Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
