NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. — The Thiel College Men's Golf team opened their 2026-27 campaign at the Westminster Invitational Monday afternoon at the Avalon FC. 

The Blue and Gold placed 11th (+52) out of 14 teams. 

Jackson Gadsby (Sandy Lake, Pa./Lakeview) and Brandon Stubert (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) tied for 31st with individual scores of 84 (+12). 

Joe Grundy (Saegertown, Pa./Saegertown), Eli Nicklas (Erie, Pa./Northwest Pennsylvania Collegiate Academy) and Aiden Rueberger (Hermitage, Pa. /Hickory) tied for 45th with individual scores of 86 (+14). 

Rueberger shot two holes under par, along with six on. Nicklas and Gadsby had nine pars as Grundy and Stubert both had eight. 

Competing individually, Braden Baylor and Brett Crawn (New Kensington, Pa./Valley) tied for 64th with scores of 90 (+18). Both golfers shot six holes on par.

The Tomcats are back on the green Saturday, Sept. 5 at the Pitt Bradford Kickoff Classic.
