GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College Athletics Cheer program is set to travel to Daytona Beach, Florida to compete at the prestigious NCA & NDA Collegiate Cheer and Dance Championship.
The Blue and Gold will first show their routine on Friday, Apr. 10 at 11:50 a.m. for the prelim round. The Tomcats will compete in the finals on Saturday, Apr. 11, time TBD.
Under the leadership of Head Coach Randall Burnett, now entering his ninth season, Thiel's cheer program continues to build on a strong tradition of excellence, growth, and national presence. A proud alumnus, Burnett has elevated the program into a competitive force while maintaining a strong emphasis on leadership, community engagement, and student-athlete development.
The Tomcats have established a consistent presence on the national stage, earning multiple appearances at NCA Nationals over the years. Each opportunity to compete represents not only the culmination of months of preparation, but also a chance to showcase the program's energy, execution, and pride on one of the sport's biggest stages.
This year marks an exciting new chapter for the program as Thiel will compete in a new division: Intermediate Small Coed. The move reflects the program's continued growth and strategic development as it looks to challenge itself against new competition.
"Our team has embraced the challenge of moving into the Intermediate Small Coed division," said Burnett. "This transition reflects the growth of our program, and we're excited to push ourselves in a new competitive field while continuing to represent Thiel with pride and confidence."

Beyond competition, the Thiel cheer program remains deeply connected to the community, hosting youth clinics, engaging with local schools, and supporting campus-wide initiatives throughout the Greenville area.
