GREENVILLE, Pa. (March 6) -- The Thiel College Men's Volleyball team suffered a 3-0 defeat to Saint Vincent College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) clash on Maenpa Court at Beeghly Gymnasium Friday evening.
The Tomcats dip to 15-8 (5-1) while the Bearcats rise to 10-2 (6-0) with set score wins of 25-19, 25-22 and 25-17.
It was a tough day for the Thiel offense as the Blue and Gold were held to a season-low .104 hitting.
Ezra Oesterling (Shelocta, Pa./West Shamokin) led Thiel with eight kills but was held to -.034 from the outside. Oesterling added six digs.
Bryce Lizanich (Coraopolis, Pa./Montour) logged five kills on .375 to go with two blocks.
George Schwalm IV (Fort Collins, Colo./Poudre) and
Will Zimmerman (Cranberry, Pa./Seneca Valley) each recorded five kills and a block.
Noah Leffingwell (Seattle, Wash./Bishop Blanchet) added four kills and a block while
Tyler Hussey (Irwin, Pa./Norwin) had a pair of kills.
Eli Olszowka (Erie, Pa./Mercyhurst Prep) led Thiel with seven digs and 14 assists.
Josh Hovan (Baden, Pa./Ambridge) added six digs while
Ben Lowell (Portland, Ore./Sunset) had four digs to go with 13 assists.
Thiel is back in action next Saturday for a home 1 p.m. PAC clash with Grove City.
