ALFRED, N.Y. -- The Thiel College women's lacrosse team fell 16-1 on the road at Alfred State in another non-conference clash Tuesday evening.
The Tomcats drop to 0-4 overall, as Alfred State advances to 2-1.
The Pioneers battled early, notching eight goals in the first quarter. They continued strong on the offensive end with five unanswered goals in the second quarter, and just two in the third.
The Blue and Gold's lone goal was notched by senior
Hayden Wightman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) in the final minutes of the game, man-up and unassisted.
On the defensive end,
Shayla Foster (East Liverpool, Ohio/East Liverpool) grabbed three ground balls and caused two turnovers.
Goalkeeper
Edith Lithkousky (Carthage, N.Y./Carthage Central) had a game best 13 ground balls, and made 11 saves.
Thiel is back in action on Thursday, Mar. 19 as they host Saint Vincent for their first conference contest of the 2026 season.
