DiCecco, Henderson II named CSC Academic All-District

GREENVILLE, Pa. (March 24) -- Thiel College Men's Basketball players John DiCecco (Indianapolis, Ind./Lebanon) and Anthony Henderson II (Miramar, Fla./Somerset Academy) were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team Tuesday afternoon.

The CSC Academic All-District program recognizes student-athletes that excel on the court and in the classroom. To be eligible for academic all-district status, a student-athlete must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played or start in at least two-thirds of the team's games. An undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA.

DiCecco, an exercise science major, is now a two-time CSC honoree and is the first Tomcat since Ahmad Tejumola to garner multiple Academic All-District laurels.

Boasting a 3.91 GPA, DiCecco also excelled on the court, finishing the season fourth in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) in 3-point percentage at .387 (min. 75 attempts). He appeared in 23 games (17 starts) and averaged 7.3 points per game while finishing second on the team in field-goal percentage at .438 (63-for-144).

Henderson II, also an exercise science major, boasted a 3.69 GPA. He saw an increased workload last season, starting 23 games and finishing seventh in the PAC in minutes per game (32.8).

The Florida native led the PAC and had the second-best free-throw percentage in team history at .846 (66-of-78). His .846 free-throw percentage was the best by a sophomore in team history. Henderson II led the team in points (232) and points per game (10.1) while tying for the team lead in assists (46) and assists per game (2.0).
