TRAFFORD, Pa. (March 2) -- Thiel College Men's Lacrosse senior
Austin Parker (Titusville, Pa./Maplewood) was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Specialist of the Week Monday evening.
The honor is the second in Parker's career, as he was named Specialist of the Week once last season. Parker won 39 faceoffs and grabbed 29 ground balls as Thiel went 1-1 last week in a pair of non-PAC games
Parker won 23-of-24 faceoffs, with his 23 wins being tied for fifth-most in team history, in Thiel's 20-2 win over La Roche Tuesday. He grabbed a game-most 19 ground balls, the fourth-most in Thiel history, while scoring once and dishing out three helpers in the win over the Redhawks. Against Keuka Thursday, Parker won 16-of-25 faceoffs and collected a game-most 10 ground balls.
Parker leads the PAC in faceoff percentage at .616 (69-of-112) and is second in ground balls per game (10.2).
Men's Lacrosse is back in action Saturday for a noon non-conference tilt at Hilbert.
