GREENVILLE, Pa. (Oct. 7) -- The Thiel College men's soccer team fell to Hiram, 5-1, Wednesday evening at Alumni Stadium at Stoeber Field.
The Tomcats moved to 4-7-1 overall and 1-4-1 in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play, while Hiram improved to 4-2-5 overall and 3-2-2 in conference action.
Thiel struck first in the 38th minute when junior defender Joey Kushon (Pittsburgh, Pa./Deer Lakes)Â found the back of the net for his second goal of the season. The Tomcats held the lead until Hiram scored with just five seconds remaining in the first half, sending the teams into halftime tied, 1-1.
The Terriers took the lead in the second half, out scoring Thiel 4-0.Â
The Blue and Gold finished with four shots, including four on goal. Kushon, Gus Brasington (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane), Ryder Nowland (Haymarket, Va./Gainesville)Â and Logan Gordon (Hermitage, Pa./Hickory)Â each recorded a shot on target.
Sophomore goalkeeper Dylan Budziak (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) finished the match with four saves.Â
The Tomcats return to action Saturday, Oct. 10, when they travel to Washington & Jefferson for a PAC match-up at noon.Â
