GREENVILLE, Pa. (Oct. 26) -- Thiel College junior
Robert Doyle (Crowley, Texas/Arlington Heights) earned Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Special Teams Player of the Week recognition Monday following his effort last Saturday against RV Washington and Jefferson.
Doyle provided a historic start for the Tomcats Saturday afternoon, returning the opening kickoff a program-record 98 yards for a touchdown against the Presidents. Doyle's electrifying return marked the first game-opening kickoff return touchdown in program history.
Making his first career kickoff return, Doyle broke the previous program record of 97 yards, shared by Dennis Marburger (1960) and Clyde Morgan (1997). Doyle averaged 29.2 yards per return on the afternoon.
Doyle is the first Tomcat since
Jayveerh White (Sharon, Pa./Sharon) in 2024 to earn Special Teams Player of the Week distinction. He joins
Isaiah Gladney (Jackson, Ala./Jackson), who brought home PAC Newcomer of the Week honors on Sept. 28, as Tomcats to earn conference laurels in 2026.
Doyle also joined
Tyrese Madry (Indianapolis, Ind./Athens Drive Magnet (N.C.)) as Tomcats with kickoff return touchdowns on the year. Thiel is 1 of 21 teams in all of NCAA football with multiple kickoff return scores in 2026.Â
The Tomcats are back on the gridiron Saturday for a 1 p.m. league tilt at Case Western Reserve.
