GREENVILLE, Pa. -- The Thiel College Women's Basketball team dropped their first Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match-up of the new year to Allegheny College 84-54 Wednesday evening from Beeghly Gymnasium.
The Tomcats drop to 5-7 overall and 0-3 in the conference, as Allegheny advances to 6-6 in the 2025-26 season and a perfect 3-0 in the PAC.
The Gators took over the first quarter, leading by 14 and ending the half up by 24.
On the defensive end, the Tomcats were able to force the Gators from a 60% completion from the three point line in the first half to 16% in the fourth quarter.
Caitlin Stephens (West Middlesex, Pa./West Middlesex) dropped a career best 12 points for the Thiel front while grabbing seven boards, four offensive and three defensive.
Kelsey Seddon (Cochranton, Pa./Lakeview) put up nine points, brought down three rebounds and had two steals.
The Tomcats had a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line in the first quarter and ultimately finished the game at 70% (14-for-20).
Thiel returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 10 as they travel down to Pittsburgh, Pa. to take on the Chatham Cougars at Noon.
