PITTSBURGH (Jan. 10) -- The Thiel College Women's Basketball team dropped an 85-54 affair with Chatham University Saturday afternoon in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action from the Athletic and Fitness Center in Pittsburgh.

After falling behind 8-0 in the first 5 minutes of the game, the Tomcats (5-8, 0-4) answered with a 9-4 run capped on a Lyndzee Amory (Edinboro, Pa./Saegertown) jumper to make it 12-9. The Cougars (9-3, 2-2) led 18-11 after the first quarter and 41-24 at the break.

Amory posted a career-best 10 points on 4-of-8. She snagged four boards and swiped a career-high-tying two steals.

The Blue and Gold used a 6-0 third-quarter run with 3 points each from Issy Green (Slippery Rock, Pa./Portersville Christian) and Amory to get within 11 at 43-32 with 7:18 showing on the clock. The home side answered with 15 of the next 23 before Thiel tallied the final 5 points of the quarter on a Kelsey Seddon (Cochranton, Pa./Lakeview) jumper and Green 3-ball to make it 58-45 after three.

Green notched a team-best 17 points on 6-of-13 from the field and 4-of-7 from beyond the arc. Green dished out three helpers and had just two turnovers against Chatham's full-court press while grabbing a trio of boards. Seddon finished with 2 points.

The Cougars outscored the Tomcats 27-9 in the final period to spell the 85-54 final.

Emily Betsinger (Indiana, Pa./Indiana) continued her solid freshman campaign with 8 points on 4-of-5 to go with a contest-leading nine rebounds, six of which came on the offensive glass.
