GROVE CITY, Pa. (Jan. 21) -- The Thiel College Men's Basketball team dropped a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) North Division clash at Grove City College 67-47 Wednesday evening from Grove City College Arena.
The Tomcats dip to 4-11 (1-6) while the Wolverines rise to 6-10 (3-4).
Kenny Ermat (Lauderdale Lakes, Fla./Boyd Anderson) led Thiel with a career-high 20 points on 9-of-16 from the field to go with a team-high-tying seven rebounds.
Isaiah Gonzalez (Vandergrift, Pa./Kiski Area) pitched in a career-most 11 points on 3-of-4 shooting and 4-of-6 from the charity stripe to go with a 3-pointer.
Zech Lilly (Madison Heights, Va./Fork Union Military Academy) grabbed a career-best seven boards and added 4 points in reserve.
Thiel was held to 16 first-half points, its lowest first-half total since scoring 15 in the 2022-23 season opener at home against Penn State Behrend on Nov. 8. Thiel was 6-of-23 from the field in the first half. Those six made field goals are the lowest in any half for the Blue and Gold since Jan. 22 last season against Geneva.
The Tomcats improved in the second half, outscoring the Wolverines 31-30.
Thiel is back in action Saturday for a home 3 p.m. PAC interdivisional showdown with Franciscan.
