BETHANY, W.Va. (Jan. 17) -- The Thiel College Women's Basketball team dropped a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) interdivisional matchup at Bethany College 82-56 Saturday afternoon from Hummel Fieldhouse.
The Tomcats dip to 5-10 (0-6) while the Bison rise to 9-6 (4-2) with their 11th-straight series victory.
Emily Betsinger (Indiana, Pa./Indiana) led Thiel with 16 points on 7-of-11 and 2-of-4 at the free-throw line. She corralled a game-high-tying eight rebounds, five of which came on the offensive glass.
Kayley Risser (Reynoldsville, Pa./Dubois Central Catholic) added 14 points with a career-high-tying three made 3-pointers. She added three boards and dished out two assists.
Issy Green (Slippery Rock, Pa./Portersville Christian) contributed 11 points and distributed a game-high-tying four assists.
Caitlin Stephens (West Middlesex, Pa./West Middlesex) added 7 points and six boards.
The Tomcats outscored the Bison 20-16 in the third quarter and were narrowly edged 22-16 in the fourth quarter.
The Blue and Gold held an 8-7 lead in second-chance points while the Bison held a 13-11 fast-break scoring advantage.
Thiel is back in action Wednesday in a road Mercer County showdown at 5:30 p.m. against Grove City.
