GREENVILLE, Pa. -- The Thiel College Women's Basketball team dropped their Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) to Geneva 100-66 on Maenpa Court in Beeghly Gymnasium Wednesday evening.
Thiel falls to 0-5 in the conference as Geneva picks up their first PAC win.
Out the gate, Thiel took a 3-0 lead led by
Emily Betsinger (Indiana, Pa./Indiana) and
Issy Green (Slippery Rock, Pa./Portersville Christian). Soon after,
Kayley Risser (Reynoldsville, Pa./Dubois Central Catholic) knocked down a three to advance the score to 6-3.
At the 4:53 media time out Geneva took the time to regroup and forced Thiel into messy turnovers to take a 13 point lead and end the half at 29-14. The Golden Tornadoes extended that cushion behind strong execution and by halftime, Geneva held a 50–32 lead.
Thiel's
Caitlin Stephens (West Middlesex, Pa./West Middlesex) had her first career double-double, dropping 11 points and grabbing 13 boards. Risser had a team best 14 points and three rebounds, as Betsinger dropped 12.
Off the bench,
Lyndzee Amory (Edinboro, Pa./Saegertown) added to the Tomcats's rebounds by grabbing eight boards, as Green pulled down seven.
The Tomcats' next outing is on Saturday, Jan. 17 at Bethany College at 1 p.m.
