LATROBE, Pa. (Sept. 15) -- The Thiel College Women's Golf team competed Monday afternoon at the Saint Vincent Invitational from Latrobe CC. Kelsi Hefner (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) paced the Tomcats as she finished tied for 12th of 42 golfers, her best placement of the season.

Hefner carded a 96 for the round, shooting a 47 on the front nine and a 49 on the back. She parred the 5th, 6th, 9th and 15th holes while posting a birdie on the par-5 14th.

Emily Eutsey (Jones Mills, Pa./Mount Pleasant) posted a 99 to place 16th. She had pars on the par-3 10th and par-5 14th along with eight bogeys for the round.

Megan Bull (Hermitage, Pa./Hickory) and Grascen Reyburn (Franklin, Pa./Rocky Grove) placed 35th and 36th, respectively, with Bull shooting a 118 and Reyburn a 119.

As a team, Thiel placed 5th of 6 teams with 432 strokes. Westminster won the team title with a 359 while hosts Saint Vincent was second (378), Grove City third (393), Penn State Altoona fourth (416) and Waynesburg sixth (435). 

Madison Sharek of Geneva was the individual medalist as she posted an 82.

The Tomcats are back on the course Sunday and next Monday as they take part in Allegheny's Guy and Jeanne Kuhn Invitational from The Country Club of Meadville.
