MEADVILLE, Pa. (April 18) -- The Thiel College Women's Golf team battled the elements en route to a third-place finish at a rain-shortened Allegheny Invitational Saturday from the Country Club of Meadville.
All 28 golfers in the field had completed 11 holes before rain came through the area ending play. Thus, just the first 11 holes were counted for individual and team scores.
The Cats were 3rd-of-4 squads as DII Seton Hill took the team title with a 216. Grove City was second (218), Thiel third (258) and Saint Vincent (270) fourth.
Emily Eutsey (Jones Mills, Pa./Mount Pleasant) paced Thiel with a 60 (+15) to tie for 15th.
Megan Bull (Hermitage, Pa./Hickory) and
Kelsi Hefner (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) tied for 19th with a 64 (+19).
Grascen Reyburn (Franklin, Pa./Rocky Grove) was 27th with a 70 (+25).
Thiel is back in action next Friday and Saturday for the spring portion of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships. The final two rounds will take place at Mill Creek North with Thiel sitting in 7th place.
