GREENVILLE, Pa. (July 24) -- The Thiel College Men's and Women's Tennis team along with seven individuals were recently honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for their academic success.
Both the Men's and Women's squads earned the All-Academic Team Award, which honors programs that have a team GPA of 3.2 or above. The women's team has now earned the distinction in each of the last two seasons.
On the men's side,
Evan Cessna (Kittanning, Pa./West Shamokin),
Ethan Tabaka (Hermitage, Pa./West Middlesex),
Nathaniel Udell (Meadowbrook, Pa./Abington) and
Bret Vilage (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) were named ITA Scholar-Athletes while
Mila Brdar (White Oak, Pa./McKeesport),
Toby Atwood (Kittanning, Pa./Armstrong) and
Chloe Walton (Lower Burrell, Pa./Burrell) earned the honor on the women's side.
Tabaka and Atwood have now each earned the scholar-athlete distinction in each of the last two seasons.
The scholar-athlete honor is awarded to individuals who have a GPA of at least 3.5 for the current academic year.
