GREENVILLE, Pa. (May 12) -- Thiel College Tennis players
Mila Brdar (White Oak, Pa./McKeesport),
Sydney Green (Titusville, Pa./Titusville),
Bret Vilage (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) and
Chloe Walton (Lower Burrell, Pa./Burrell) were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team Tuesday afternoon.
Academic All-District honorees must be a sophomore or higher, be in the lineup for 75 percent of an institution's days of competition and have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50.
Brdar collected a thrilling 7-6 (9-7), 4-6, 14-12 victory over Julia Lazar of Waynesburg on Sept. 30 to get the Tomcats a point in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) clash.
Green collected a pair of singles wins on the year, including a 6-4, 6-2 triumph over Franciscan's Hannah Franzone on Oct. 4.
Walton competed in 13 singles clashes on the year and had several competitive showdowns.
On the men's side, Vilage collected three singles victories at No. 2 singles, including triumphs against Pitt Greensburg, Mount Union and Westminster. In doubles action, he and
Tyrus Horton (Fuquay Varina, N.C./Athens Drive) picked up two victories at No. 1 doubles.
