SHARON, Pa. – The Thiel College Department of Athletics held its annual Blue-Gold Golf Outing Monday at Avalon at Buhl in Sharon, Pa.
The winning team was comprised of Scott Anderson, Andrew Hoge, Alec Miller and Dennis Xander as the foursome shot -13. The group of Alex Ciepela, Dylan Lasher, Aaron Wakely and Dave Waugaman finished second at 10-under. Patrick Bellback, Bunky Miller, Mike Shimkanin and Marty Taylor finished third at eight-under.
Hodge produced a solid day on the links as he won 3-of-5 closest to the pin contests on holes four, 14 and 18. Josh Thompson was closest on the sixth while Matt Kichman was closest on No. 16.
Denny Ratvasky collected longest drive honors on the mens side with a blast on No. 2 while Raquel McDonald collected the honor on No.17 on the women's side. Jim Frank won the longest putt contest with a more than 30-foot putt on No. 5.
