GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Thiel College Softball seniors Becca Landis (Kinsman, Ohio/Mathews) and Mackenzie Herman (Greenville, Pa./Reynolds), and freshman Kayley Risser (Reynoldsville, Pa./Dubois Central Catholic) earned end of the year Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) honors announced by the league office Wednesday evening.
Landis earned second team All-PAC for the Tomcats, as Risser and Herman landed on the honorable mention team.
Becca had 13 wins, a 2.20 ERA, pitched for 146.1 innings, and had 155 strikeouts on the year. She ranked sixth in the conference for her ERA, second for innings pitched and first for strikeouts.
On the year, she had seven games where she threw 10 or more strikeouts, her career high being against Chatham with 14.
As a freshman, Risser led the team with a .375 batting average and an on base percentage of .419. She had 45 hits on the year which included nine doubles, six triples and 16 RBIs.
Being at the top of the line-up, Risser also led the team with 29 runs scored.
Herman tied for first for home runs in a season with five, tying in sixth place in the entire conference. She had a batting average of .304, on base percentage of .350, eight doubles, four triples and 20 RBIs.
On the mound, Mackenzie pitched in 11 games where she had three wins and 15 strikeouts.
The softball team finished with an overall record of 18-18 and 10-10 in conference play under first year head coach Paul Gray. The team made a run in the playoffs, defeating No. 3 Geneva in the first round but ultimately lost to them in the second elimination game of the PAC Championship Tournament.
