STEUBENVILLE, Ohio (April 9) -- The Thiel College Men's Tennis team dropped a 7-0 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match to Franciscan University Wednesday evening at Belleview Courts.
The Tomcats fall to 0-10 (0-7) while the Barons rise to 7-6 (4-2).
Nathaniel Udell (Meadowbrook, Pa./Abington) trailed 4-2 in set one at No. 1 singles before retiring due to injury.
Bret Vilage (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) picked up a trio of game wins at second singles but fell in straight sets. At No. 5 singles,
Kevin Gilroy (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio/Cuyahoga Falls) had three game wins but fell 6-2, 6-1.
In doubles action, Vilage and
Evan Cessna (Kittanning, Pa./West Shamokin) had a game win but fell 6-1 in first doubles.
The Tomcats return to action Saturday for senior day against Geneva from Tomcat Tennis Courts at noon.
