Narby breaks program single-season saves record

MEADVILLE, Pa. (April 12) -- Thiel College sophomore goalie Ethan Narby (Bath, N.Y./Haverling) set a new program single-season saves record with save No. 211 in the third quarter of Saturday afternoon's 24-2 road defeat to Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Allegheny College at Frank B. Fuhrer Field.

Narby made a career-high-tying 30 saves in the defeat to increase his season total to a PAC leading 220. His 30 saves are tied for the second most in a game in team history. Narby's career total sits at 407, and he is now the third goalie in team history to eclipse 400 career saves.

Narby has made at least 20 saves in 8 of 11 games this season. In the last three games, he is averaging 26.7 saves.

The Tomcats fall to 1-10 (0-4) while the Gators rise to 5-8 (2-4).

Zach Melin (Chardon, Ohio/Chardon) and Thadd Bell (Erie, Pa./McDowell) each tallied goals for the Blue and Gold.

Austin Parker (Titusville, Pa./Maplewood) had a trio of faceoff wins, ground balls and caused turnovers each. Justin Mason (Alden, N.Y./Alden Central) snatched six ground balls.

The Tomcats return to action Wednesday for a 4 p.m. PAC clash with Chatham University at Alumni Stadium.
