WAYNESBURG, Pa. -- The Thiel College Men's Tennis team fell 6-1 to Waynesburg University in their Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) road contest Wednesday evening.
The Tomcats drop to 0-5 on the season and 0-2 in conference play, while the Yellow Jackets rise to 2-3 and 1-1 in the PAC.
Bret Vilage (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) took the Tomcats lone victory 10-6 in the third set and 7-5 in the second to overcome an 0-6 first set in singles.
Evan Cessna (Kittanning, Pa./West Shamokin) had a competitive second set win 6-3 but ultimately fell 10-1 in the third set.
The Tomcats are back in action on Thursday, March 27 when they travel to Grove City, Pa. to take on the Wolverines. The PAC match-up will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Walters-Zbell Tennis Courts.
