GREENVILLE, Pa. (March 21) -- The Thiel College Men's Tennis team fell 7-0 to Westminster College in their Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opener Friday evening at Tomcat Tennis Courts.
The Tomcats drop to 0-4 on the season while the Titans rise to 3-2.
Nathaniel Udell (Meadowbrook, Pa./Abington) and
Bret Vilage (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) played a competitive match at first singles but ultimately fell 6-3.
Udell dropped a tight first set 4-6 at first singles before dropping the second frame 1-6. Vilage logged four game wins in set one and three in set two but ultimately fell in each set at second singles.
Evan Cessna (Kittanning, Pa./West Shamokin) was close in set two at third singles but ultimately fell 3-6 to drop the match.
Kevin Gilroy (Cuyahoga, Ohio/Cuyahoga Falls) had a trio of game wins in set one in fifth singles.
Men's Tennis returns to action Wednesday for a 4:30 p.m. PAC showdown at Waynesburg University.
