NEW CONCORD, Ohio (March 1) -- The Thiel College Men's Lacrosse team fell 26-4 to non-conference foe Muskingum University 26-4 Saturday afternoon at Bullock Health and Wellness Complex.
The Tomcats drop to 0-3 on the year while the Muskies rise to 2-2.
The home side jumped to a 10-0 lead before a
Thadd Bell (Erie, Pa./McDowell) goal made it 10-1 at the 6:45 mark of the second quarter. Muskingum added two more goals before the break to lead 12-1 at the intermission.
A pair of goals from
Zach Melin (Chardon, Ohio/Chardon) each assisted by Bell made it 15-3 Muskies in the third quarter. Bell added his second goal of the game later in the quarter.
Bell tied his career high with 4 points and set a new career high with two helpers to go with four ground balls. Melin's two goals pushed his season total up to six. The senior logged five shots on goal and a pair of ground balls.
Ethan Narby (Bath, N.Y./Haverling) made a career-high 22 saves and grabbed a team-pacing five ground balls.
Men's Lacrosse returns to action Wednesday for a 1 p.m. non-conference clash at Keuka.
