PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- The Thiel College Women's Basketball team dropped a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match-up with Chatham University 71-33 Saturday afternoon.
After a back and forth first quarter, Thiel kept up with Chatham in the 2nd with each team scoring 12 points. At the half, the Tomcats were only down six against the No. 2 team in the PAC.
Thiel was able to keep Chatham to shooting 30-77 (39%) from the field and 2-27 (7.4%) from the three-point line throughout the whole game.
Freshman Issy Green (Slippery Rock, Pa./Portersville Christian) had a team high 10 points, while also grabbing four rebounds, two steals, and two assists. Green went 4-7 from the field and played a tough 36 minutes.
Bria Ringloff (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) had a team and career-high 13 rebounds to add to her season total of 87, and Giovanna Castro (Frisco, Texas/Heritage) added six to the Tomcat total of 39.
Josie Lewis (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) and Kayley Risser (Reynoldsville, Pa./Dubois Central Catholic) had a combined 15 points and seven rebounds for the Tomcats. Lewis had 7 points, five rebounds and one assist, and Risser dropped 8 points, grabbed two rebounds, and one assist.
The Tomcats are back in action on Wednesday, February 12th when they travel to Grove City, Pa. To face off against Grove City College. The conference contest will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men's team at 7:30 p.m.
