TRAFFORD, Pa. (Nov. 9) -- The Thiel College Women's Volleyball team will be the No. 2 seed from the North Division in the Presdents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Tournament this week and will host a quarterfinal match Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. against South No. 3 Franciscan University.

The theme for Tuesday's match will be a whiteout. Admission to all PAC Championship Tournament matches is $5 for adults and $2 for students, with students at PAC host institutions admitted for free with a valid student ID. PAC Passes will not be accepted. Tickets can be purchased online in advance by clicking here or upon entry with cash or card.

Thiel enters the conference tournament with a 16-8 overall record and 11-5 mark in league play. The Tomcats' 11 conference wins are their most since the 2021 campaign. Thiel has an .875 winning percentage on Maenpa Court this season (7-1), its highest home winning percentage since 2012 (.889) when they were 8-1 at home.

While Franciscan bested Thiel in their lone meeting this season in Steubenville, the Blue and Gold hold a 6-2 all-time series advantage and are 4-0 against the Barons in Greenville.

The PAC Championship Tournament will feature an eight-team championship bracket format. Quarterfinal matches will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 11, with all scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. The semifinals will be played on Thursday, Nov. 13 and the championship match will take place on Saturday, Nov. 15.
