TRAFFORD, Pa. (Nov. 4) -- Four members of the Thiel College Women's Basketball team were named Players to Watch for the 2025 season by the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Tuesday afternoon.
Sophomores Issy Green (Slippery Rock, Pa./Portersville Christian) and Kayley Risser (Reynoldsville, Pa./Dubois Central Catholic) along with freshmen Emily Betsinger (Indiana, Pa./Indiana) and Kelsey Wagner (Sherman, N.Y./Sherman) made the list for the Tomcats.
Green started all 25 games for Thiel in 2024-25 and led the team in steals per game (2.7) and total rebounds (113) on the year. She was ranked fourth in the PAC in steals per game and had a season-high 25 points and seven steals against Pitt-Greensburg last December.
Risser also started all 25 matches for the Tomcats and led the team in points (11.2) and blocks (0.8) per game. She posted her season best pf 26 points against Waynesburg last January.
Entering her college career, Wagner is coming off being named Class D CCAA D2 Player of the Year and All-WNY Small School First Team honoree.
Betsinger started at WPIAL-playoff qualifying Indiana Area High School last year. The Indians advanced to 5A quarterfinals before falling to eventual champion Peters Township.
The Tomcats were picked to finish sixth in the conference's North Division.
Allegheny swept the polls with 11 first place votes (66 points) as Grove City had one (54).
Geneva (42), Westminster (34) and Hiram (32) finish out the rest of the North above Thiel.
Washington and Jefferson took the top spot in the south division with 10 first place votes (65) and right behind them was Chatham with two votes (57).
Bethany (40), Saint Vincent (36), and Waynesburg (32) follow in the rankings, as Franciscan (16) was picked to finish sixth.
Thiel will begin their 2025-26 campaign on Friday, Nov. 7 as they travel to Fredonia, N.Y. to take on the Blue Devils at 6 p.m. They will open PAC play with their first home game of the season against Hiram College on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 5:30 p.m.
