EDINBORO, Pa. (Nov. 30) -- The Thiel College Men's Basketball team fell 86-56 at Division II Edinboro University Sunday evening in non-conference action from McComb Fieldhouse.
The Tomcats dip to 3-4 while the Fighting Scots rise to 3-3.
Action was fast as early as the Blue and Gold used an 11-5 spurt to turn a 6-5 lead into a 17-11 advantage on a
Mike Brown (Clinton, Md./Gwynn Park) 3-pointer at the 14:26 mark. Edinboro answered with 6 straight before a
Khamari Accursio-Harris (Jupiter, Fla./Jupiter) bucket gave the Blue and Gold a 19-17 edge.
Accursio-Harris led Thiel with 12 points and five rebounds. He was 6-of-12 from the field. Brown logged 8 points on 3-of-8 and connected on a 3-ball.
Thiel was within 3 at 33-30 with 5 minutes remaining in the half before the home side went on a 11-1 run to carry a 44-31 lead into the break. The Tomcats got back within 9 on a pair of
Anthony Henderson II (Miramar, Fla./Somerset Academy) free throws early in the second half before the home side took control and led by double digits the rest of the way for the win.
Henderson II pitched in 8 points on 2-of-6 from the field and 4-of-4 at the free-throw line.
Logan Lentz (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) added 8 points in reserve on 3-of-4 shooting and 2-of-2 at the charity stripe.
The Blue and Gold held an 18-10 edge in bench scoring.
Thiel is back in action Wednesday evening as they open conference action at home against Hiram at 7:30.
