MEADVILLE, Pa. (Oct. 29) -- The Thiel College Women's Volleyball team earned a solid four-set win over Allegheny College Wednesday evening at the David V. Wise Center in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) North Division action.
The Tomcats improve to 15-6 (10-3) with set wins of 16-25, 28-26, 31-29 and 25-22. The Gators dip to 12-12 (6-7).
Senior outside 
Daisy Jenness (Pendleton, Ore./Pendleton) became the eighth Tomcat in history to record 1,000 career kills with her strike in set four. 
The home side opened a 17-11 lead in set two as they looked to pull ahead 2-0. Thiel answered with the next 4 to get within 2 at 17-15. A 3-0 Thiel run capped with an 
Arin DeLattre (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) kill gave the Tomcats a 23-22 lead. The visitors saved a set point at 24-23 on a DeLattre kill and had one of their own on a Jenness pop to lead 26-25. After an Allegheny sideout, back-to-back Jenness kills gave Thiel the set and evened things at 1.
Jenness posted a match-pacing 20 kills on .200 from the left pin to go with six digs and a solo block. DeLattre dominated in the middle with 14 kills on .379 to go with six digs and a pair of blocks.
Thiel opened a 14-8 led in set three before Allegheny rattled off 8-of-9 to lead 16-15. Thiel had set-point chances at 24-23 and 25-24 along with one more at 27-26 on a 
Kylee Jordan (Orrville, Ohio/Waynedale) kill, but the Gators fended each one off. Thiel found a way as a DeLattre kill made it 30-29 and a Gators error gave Thiel a 2-1 lead.
Set three had 14 ties and six lead changes. Jordan posted eight kills and had a pair of digs.
Like the prior two sets, Thiel jumped to an early set-four lead at 6-1 on a 
Caitlin Stephens (West Middlesex, Pa./West Middlesex) kill. The home side pulled within one at 16-15 before a 
Lyndzee Amory (Edinboro, Pa./Saegertown) kill made it 17-15. Knotted at 20, a 3-0 Thiel run with a pair of DeLattre kills made it 23-20. Allegheny got 2 back to make it 23-22 before oen final DeLattre kill and a Gators error gave the Blue and Gold the victory.
Amory posted nine kills from the right side on .207 to go with four digs. Stephens racked up a career-high-tying seven kills on a career-most 17 swings to go with a career-best four digs. She hit .294 in the middle. 
Thiel dug a season-best 95 balls as 
Danielle Aulet (Lawrence, Kan./Mineral Ridge) paced the Tomcats with a season-most 27 digs. 
Carlie Reynolds (Grove City, Pa./Grove City Area) dug a season-most 17 balls and dished out a match-leading 44 assists. Reynolds added a trio of blocks (2 BS, 1 BA).
Macie Williams (Cochranton, Pa./Cochranton) dug a career-most 14 balls and 
Sarah Wilson (Rural Valley, Pa./West Shamokin) added seven digs.
The Tomcats are back in action Saturday for Senior Day against Chatham at 1 p.m.
