TRAFFORD, Pa. (Oct. 27) -- Thiel College Women's Volleyball middle blocker
Arin DeLattre (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) collected Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Defensive Player of the Week honors Monday afternoon. The honor is DeLattre's first PAC Weekly Award of her career.
DeLattre posted 17 blocks last week, averaging 2.4 per set, as Thiel went 1-1 in PAC action. She had a match-pacing eight blocks (1 s, 7 a) against Grove City Wednesday along with a career-high-tying nine stuffs (1 s, 8 a) in a four-set win over Bethany Friday. DeLattre leads the PAC and is in the top 50 in DIII in blocks per set (1.06).Her 68 total blocks are good for fifth in the conference.
Offensively, DeLattre posted 18 kills on .346 from the middle for the week. The junior recorded a team-high-tying 10 kills on .400 against Grove City as she surpassed 500 career kills in the match. She recorded 14 kills, the second highest mark in her career, on .313 and served four aces in the Tomcats' triumph over the Bison Friday.
The Hempfield Area High School product has posted at least four blocks in nine matches this season.
DeLattre joins
Danielle Aulet (Lawrence, Kan./Mineral Ridge) as Tomcats to receive PAC Defensive Player of the Week (Oct. 6) honors this season.
Daisy Jenness (Pendleton, Ore./Pendleton) has also collected Weekly Honors, being named the Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 13.
Women's Volleyball continues its push for the top seed in the PAC Championship Tournament Wednesday in a 7 p.m. clash at Allegheny.
