NEW WILLMINGTON, Pa. -- The Thiel College Women's Basketball team dropped their Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match-up 83-58 to Westminster College Wednesday evening.
With 4:35 left in the first quarter, Thiel went on an 11-0 run to end the quarter up 28-19.
Sophomore Jensen Stehlik (Sagamore Hills, Ohio/Nordonia) put up 15 points to lead the Tomcat offense, while also grabbing one rebound and one assist. Stehlik went 5-9 from the three-point line and 5-12 from the field.
Slippery Rock native Issy Green (Slippery Rock, Pa./Portersville Christian) had a team high six assists, while picking up 13 points, five rebounds, three steals, and one block. Green went 4-8 from the field and 4-8 from the free throw line.
Bria Ringloff (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) and Catherine Kelly (Butler, Pa./Moniteau) both grabbed five rebounds to add to the Tomcat total of 33. Kelly picked up 4 points, and Ringloff put up five.
Freshman Kayley Risser (Reynoldsville, Pa./Dubois Central Catholic) added 8 points, three rebounds, and two steals to the night.
The Tomcats are back in action Saturday, February 1st when they take on the Franciscan Barons at home. The PAC contest will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by the men's team at 3:00 p.m. The women's basketball team will be honoring their four seniors before the match-up.
