Risser drops career-high 26 points against Waynesburg

GREENVILLE, Pa. -- The Thiel College Women's Basketball team fell to Waynesburg University 91-75 Saturday afternoon in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play on Maenpa Court at Beeghly Gymnasium.  

Waynesburg advances to 9-7 on the season, and 4-7 in conference play. Thiel drops to 0-16 overall and 0-11 in league play.  

At the end of the first quarter, Thiel was up 21-20, shooting 7-17 from the field and 5-6 from the free throw line.  

Freshman Kayley Risser (Reynoldsville, Pa./Dubois Central Catholic) had a career-high 26 points, while adding six rebounds, two blocks, and two steals. Risser shot 7-8 from the free throw line and played 33 minutes.  

Lyndzee Amory (Edinboro, Pa./Saegertown) had a team and career high 12 rebounds, while also adding 3 points. 

Josie Lewis (Greenville, Pa./Greenville), Jensen Stehlik (Sagamore Hills, Ohio/Nordonia), Bria Ringloff (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson), and Issy Green (Slippery Rock, Pa./Portersville Christian) all had 10+ point games.  

Green picked up 10 points, grabbed nine boards, and nine assists. She shot 5-8 from the free throw line and played a total of 39 minutes.  

Lewis picked up 13 points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals, while Stehlik had 12 points, seven boards, and one steal. Lewis played 37 minutes and shot 5-12 from the field and 3-5 from the three-point line. Stehlik shot 3-4 from the line and tallied a total of 34 minutes played.  

Ringloff put up 11 points, grabbed four rebounds, two steals, and shot 3-3 from the line.  

The Tomcats return to action Wednesday, January 22nd when they take on Geneva at home. The PAC match-up will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men's at 7:30 p.m..
