MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Thiel College Women's Basketball team dropped their PAC road contest to the Allegheny Gators 92-66 this evening.
Allegheny improves to an overall record of 9-6, and 8-2 in the conference. Thiel drops to 0-15 overall, and 0-10 in league play.
Outscoring the Gators in the second quarter, Thiel was down 44-36 at the half, keeping Allegheny to 1-9 from the three-point line and 19-48 from the field.
Despite a two-point difference fourth quarter, the Tomcats weren't able to stop the Gator offense in the third.
Freshman Catherine Kelly (Butler, Pa./Moniteau) had a game high 17-point game, grabbing five rebounds, two steals, and three assists. Kelly went 6-6 from the free throw line and 5-10 from the field.
Reynolds, Pa. native Kayley Risser (Reynoldsville, Pa./Dubois Central Catholic) put up 11 points, secured three boards, and three assists.
Bria Ringloff (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) had a team high eight rebounds, while also picking up 4 points.
Lyndzee Amory (Edinboro, Pa./Saegertown) (8), Issy Green (Slippery Rock, Pa./Portersville Christian) (7), and Josie Lewis (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) (7) had a combined 22 points to contribute to the Tomcat offense. Amory grabbed six rebounds, while Green secured five.
The Tomcats return to action Saturday, January 18th when they take on the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets at home. The PAC match-up will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by the men's team at 3:00 p.m.
